Dear Coaches and Managers:

To celebrate Arlington Neighborhood Day, First Horizon Bank will host the grand opening of their new Arlington branch, located at the intersection of Lee Highway and Glebe Road on Saturday, May 8 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.  ATSC Coach Gretchen Hamm (U10 Intensity Blue) chose ATSC to serve as a community ambassador for this occasion. 

 

Spearheaded by our two player representatives, Lauren Hunt and Ian Handerhan, ATSC volunteers will assist with monitoring the moon bounce, supervising a children’s coloring table, and blowing up balloons.  In addition, our new goalie coach, Colin Lennon, will be on hand to conduct a mini clinic for those of you who haven’t been able to get to his Monday session.  In appreciation for our assistance, the bank will make a donation to ATSC.

 

Lauren and Ian will also be collecting used soccer equipment for DC Scores, and we’ll have a table in the bank parking lot for all of you to drop off that old equipment (cleats and shin guards) that’s filling up your closet.

 

The official ribbon cutting ceremony will occur at 11:30 am.  County officials will be present, as well as our President, Phil Keating.

 

First Horizon Bank is a full-service financial services company opening seven Northern Virginia financial centers this spring and summer.  It is a subsidiary of First Tennessee National Corp.  This market is the first in their national expansion strategy.

 

Of interest to ATSC managers and treasurers, the bank will offer free business checking accounts.  If you are interested, contact bank manager Shirley Wilkenson and mention you are from ATSC.

 

We need a few volunteers to work with our teens to staff the various kids’ activities.  The bank is catering lunch, so you’ll be fed.  Volunteers will work one-hour shifts beginning at 10:00 am and ending at 2:00 pm.  Please let me, Lauren (kickit005@aol.com) or Ian (laxalot217@aol.com) know if you are willing to spend an hour representing ATSC.  Come out on Saturday, May 8 and meet your new banking neighbor.
