The 4th Annual Coaches game was played on Saturday 9/9 at Quincy Field. The White team bested the Blue team by a score of 4-2. The game was pretty wide open and featured a lot of attacking play and great scoring chances.
A lot of credit must be given to the White team for their defending and their counter-attacking style that put pressure on the Blue team all over the field. The White team was led by 2 goals from Erin Footland and both goals were assisted by Quan Phan (1 goal). Quan made 2 runs with the ball deep into the Blue team’s box and committed the goalkeeper before sending a crisp pass across the front of the goal where Erin calmly placed each into the back of the net. Tom Torres also had a score for the White team.
The Blue team’s goals were scored by Moh in his coach’s game debut. New players for the Blue team included Tunji, Ann and Anu, who helped create many scoring chances that kept the game in doubt until the final whistle. The White team’s Mikaela was the lone new player for their squad.
We had another great turnout of players and their families. I know I speak for the coaches when I say that we really appreciate the support and encouragement from the great people of ATSC. A special thanks goes out to Ariel Schwartz who coordinated the event again for us this year. She has been a tireless worker for the Club and we are very lucky to have her.
The game was officiated brilliantly by Richard Easby, Andy Megas and Steve Etkin. Thank You Gentlemen!
