The U15B Arlington FC 94 Blue, coached by Luis Gendive, has completed an impressive run over the last 6 months winning four consecutive championships.
In March, 94 Blue won the U-14 Classic Division of the Arlington Spring Invitational Soccer Tournament (ASIST), they won the Virginia President’s Cup and were the Virginia representative to the Sub-Regional finals in Kirkwood Delaware. The team earned a draw (0-0) against a team from Wall, NJ and lost to the Potomac Cougars, the Maryland representative.
94 Blue were Champions of the 2009 Virginian Soccer Tournament and more recently were Champions in the 2009 August Cup. While the team got off to a slow start in its first game against VSA Heat winning the match 1-0, it went on to beat its next opponents Chesapeake United by a score of 5-0 and Loudoun Black 2-0. The team ended the tournament with an impressive goal differential of 8-0.
In addition to its fine run of play in tournament competition, in the spring of 2009, the team earned a promotion to Division 2 in the NCSL in spite of having to end its season playing 4 games over a 4 day period (3 of them over 2 days) because of rescheduled rainouts. The team has earned promotion every season under Coach Luis from D6 to D2.
