The U11B Arlington Impact Red won the Premier Division of the local Arlington Tournament (March 7-8) beating Loudoun County, 5-1.
U11G Rowdies Red took home the championship in the Classic bracket of the ASIST (March 14-15). After losing a heartbreaker in the opening match to ABGC the Rowdies rallied to win their next matches shutting out Chantilly FCV Rockets 3-0 and McLean Extreme 3-0. The Rowdies met a very strong SYA Velocity team in the finals and were held in check until late in the 1st half when Bob tracked down a defender trying to turn a ball and tucked one in low and way to put the home team up 1-0. The second half the Rowdies continued to press and Marissa and Bob netted one more each to put the Rowdies up 3-0 for the championship. Congratulations Rowdies: Brooks, Colleen, Livvy, Fiona, Hannah, Kristen, Leanne, Alicia, Bob, Mills Kehoe and guest players Margaret, Marissa and Madison and coaches Julie Scarangella, Kelly Bigwood and Jerry Ellison. Way to bring home Championship.
U14B AFC Blue won the Classic division of the ASIST with a record of 2-0-2. The final game against the West End Warriors of PA was a hard fought match that ended in regulation with a score of 1-1. After two scoreless 5 minute overtime periods, the game proceeded to penalty kicks. Making PKs for AFC Blue were Nick Kensinger, Sam Lebryk. Robert Flott is credited with two saves and two of the West End players put their PKs over the goal. This marked the first tournament Championship for AFC Blue. Congratulations.
