New Game Field Set Up Procedures
Fall 2007

Arlington Hall   The nets will be set up and taken down by ASA’s Arlington Kiwanis Manager.  The flags that are in the equipment box at this field and should be returned to the box after the last game.  If you have a game on Saturday or Sunday, please check the field on Friday evening.  If the nets are not there please call Mauricio 703-908-9370.

Bluemont Junction   The nets and flags stay up on this field at all times.

Benjamin Banneker Park/EFC   ATSC teams must set up and take down nets and flags at this field.  The first team scheduled will need to reserve and pick up nets (in the black canvas bag labeled junior nets U9-U10 – includes Velcro, stakes and hammer) and flags up from the equipment shed (6501 N. 26th Street) and the last team will take the nets and flags and return them to the equipment shed.  Please check your league schedule for the symbols to determine if you have field setup/takedown responsibilities (and check again the day before the game in case something has changed).  Contact Lizzy Stell (703-241-0309) in advance to reserve a set of nets/flags.

Chesterfield    The nets and flags stay up on this field at all times.

Greenbrier   There is no equipment box at this field.  The nets and flags are in a storage room.  The facility monitor (always stationed at Greenbrier) will be have a key and can open the storage room for the first team, and again for the last team to replace the nets.  Staff should be onsite at least 30 minutes before the first game is scheduled to start, which is enough time to get the nets set up.  First team should put up nets and flags and the last team should put them away (except on 9/9/07 and 9/16/07 when AWSL will follow ATSC at Greenbrier).   

Kenmore   ATSC installed an equipment box at this field to store the nets and flags.  AWSL (Women’s league) teams will use the nets in the box and leave them up after their second game.  The first ATSC team should use the collapsible flags in the equipment box.  The last team will need to take down the nets and flags and put them in the equipment box.  Equipment box is located behind the backstop near the elementary school.  The box is a black Stanley box.

 

Powhatan Springs   ATSC teams will need to get collapsible flags that are in the equipment box at this field.  The last team will need to put flags back in the equipment box.  NETS will stay up at this field throughout the season. 

Quincy    This field is used during the fall season ONLY.  ATSC installed an equipment box at this field to store the nets, step ladder and stakes and collapsible flags.  AWSL (Women’s league) teams will use the nets in the box and leave them up after their second game (Sunday ONLY) but put the flags away.  The last team will need to take down the nets and flags and put them in the equipment box.  Equipment box is located behind the backstop near the tennis courts.  The box is a black Stanley box.

 

TJ Upper   The nets and flags stay up on this field at all times.

  Virginia Highlands   The nets should remain up on these goals all season.  AWSL will put nets up (if necessary) when they arrive and get flags from the field box (southwest corner of the field).  The nets should remain up for the rest of the day.  After the last ATSC game the flags should be returned to the field box.  Equipment box is located on the far side of the field by the little building.

 

Wakefield    The nets should be up.  ATSC teams should return the flags to the equipment box after the last game and move goals off the field.  Please do not drag the goals on the turf but have enough people to be able to carry them.  The Equipment box is green and located near the tennis courts.

 

Washington-Lee   The nets should be up because the Women’s league plays before us.  Please allow time to adjust or put nets up if necessary.  After ATSC plays the flags and nets need to be retuned to the field box.  Equipment box is grey and located at the far corner near the school.  Teams should allow time before their games to adjust nets if necessary.  Teams may also want to check the equipment box for the hammer and stakes if the feel they are needed.

 

Williamsburg MS 2   ATSC teams must set up and take down the nets and flags that are in the equipment box at this field.  The equipment box is located by the tennis courts near the game field.

 

Saturday games: 

ATSC teams MUST set up and take down nets and flags for all Saturday games except Bluemont and Chesterfield (nets/flags remain up there). 

The first team scheduled on the field puts the nets up and the last team takes them down.  Please check your league schedule for the symbols to determine if you have field setup/takedown responsibilities (and check again the day before the game in case something has changed).  Contact Lizzy Stell lizzy.atsc@gmail.com  in advance to reserve a set of nets/flags for game fields without equipment boxes.  For all synthetic turf fields, nets should be up and special flags and holders should be in the field box   Check ahead of time and if you need flags and holders, there are extras available at the equipment shed (

6501 N. 26th St
).  We now have two types of flag holders:  the orange foam cones you’ve used before and new yellow plastic circular shaped holders which are used with the thinner flags.  Do not use staked flags at any synthetic turf field.

Arlington Hall will be set up on Saturdays by ASA starting September 15, 2007.  ATSC games begin at 1:30 after ASA games.  After the last ATSC game the flags should be returned to the equipment box (brown box along the fence).
