The 10th annual Old Dominion Cup was played December 2-3 in Virginia Beach, VA. The Arlington Pride, coached by Tom Torres, defeated the PA Classics Premier 2-1 in the championship game. Ellie Mills and Hannah Kolodner scored the Pride’s goals and Mills was named MVP in the final.
The Arlington girls outscored their opponents 7-1 during the competition, and recorded shutouts in the 3 preliminary games led by Goalkeeper Emma Wolfarth and Sweeper Karina Rivera.
On December 2nd the Pride topped the CSSC Predators 2-0 (Chesapeake VA). Ellie Mills and Louisa Pitney scored goals. Karina Rivera was selected match MVP. Later that day the girls bested the PA Classics Premier 1-0 (Lancaster PA). Ellie Mills netted the game winner and was awarded MVP. The Semi-final was played December 3rd. The Pride shutout Valley AFC Strikers (Roanoke VA) 2-0. Hannah Briskin and Stephanie Megas tallied goals, and Megas also earned MVP honors.
The tournament, hosted by the Old Dominion Soccer Club, was a great finish to a successful fall season. The Pride opened the season by winning the SYA Cardinal Cup, reached the quarter finals of the VYSA State Cup, finished with a winning record in WAGS division 2 league play, and took home the roses in Virginia Beach.
