Head Coach : John McAuley
John McAuley is the coach of the U-19G ARL Intensity Red, WAGS division and U-12G ARL Red Rowdies team. He is also the Assistant Head Boys Coach at Bishop O’Connell (ranked # 1 in the region and top 5 in the country). Also he coached at WT Woodson High School in FCPS, where he currently teaches. John was a coach on a Virginia State Championship team and a VA State runner-up. He has a B license and has coached and trained many different levels of club soccer including NCSL, WAGS & ODSL Division 1 teams.
John played the Kearny Men’s club in NJ, college soccer at UVA and high school at Seton Hall Prep.
He has been the director of soccer camp and clinic organizations and has been involved in groups that provide college counseling to student-athletes, particularly to soccer players who aspire to play on the college level. Currently, 3 former players who he trained are playing in the MLS and many playing in colleges, including at Wake Forest, Penn State, Georgetown and Catholic to name a few.
Assistant Coach : Jack McAuley
Jack works for Wachovia Corporation in McLean, Va. He is a recent graduate of JMU(Class of 2009)..played Club and Intramural and Fraternity Soccer at JMU(Passed on offer to play Div 3 soccer in college)-attended JMU instead.
He played 4 years in HS at WT Woodson HS as a mid/forward. He played on teams that won Liberty District Championship, No. Region Championship and State Runner-up(lost 1-0 in 99th minute of game).
Played Div 1 Club from Junior high thru HS. Jack has played every soccer position for club teams, including Keeper and was back-up Keeper at Woodson. He was also Captain of Liberty District winning Cross Country team (Conditioning!).
Jack has scouted and assisted and done specialty training for his dad’s teams (Club and HS) the past 6 years. He intends to do licensing through Arlington Soccer.
