Generals Win the August Cup
Go Undefeated to start the Fall 2005 Campaign

(August, 2006)

In their first action of the fall 2006 season, the Generals won the August Cup with an unblemished record of 4 wins, no losses, and no draws. The Generals came into the tournament with seven new players and a new coach, and left the field after the final game as a team.

Their first game was, in retrospect, their toughest. They took the field looking to get familiar with their new teammates and coach, but it was the tenacious Blue Magic Lightening who they “got to know” first in this one. A second half goal gave the Generals the win by the slimmest of margins.

In their next game the Generals really got things going. Against an overmatched but determined MSI Dufief Dragons squad, the Generals found the back of the net repeatedly on their way to an 11-1 win.

With a spot in the finals secured, the Generals continued to take care of business in their final game of the preliminary round with a convincing 3-0 win over the MSI Fusion.

In the finals the Generals faced the DC Stoddert Red Rockets. It took a stellar performance by the Red Rockets’ keeper to keep them in the game. The Generals attacked throughout the game, and two tallies provided them a 2-0 win and the championship.

For the tournament, the Generals scored 17 goals and conceded only 1. Congratulations to Generals on a great start to the fall season!
