Fusion Defeat Patriots 3-2
A hard fought match with the Patriots on Sunday....The Fusion won 3-2 with goals being scored by Danny & Freddy (and some help from the Patriots). Colin earned a questionable red and will have to miss our next NCSL game. Solid games from Lucas, Chris, Daniel all helped earn the win.
Fusion Top Rebellion 3-2
Saturday saw our first game of a double header weekend earn a win against the Loudoun Rebellion, 3-2. Danny scored 2 more goals, making it 3 in 2 games this season. Daniel finished in an PK. The officiating was suspect, but the boys persevered. Soufan sat in as a marking back to shut down very dangerous striker. Hank went 80 minutes and got close to putting one in the net. We continued to build and find a rhythm, but have some work to do.

Fusion Lose To CSA Falcons
The team lost a tough one in the 77th minute on Sunday to the CSA Falcons. After having played the day before at 2, we traveled to Calvert for a 9am kickoff on a terrible field against a very strong team. Stellar saves by Lucas in the goal kept the game even. Jay, Kevin G, Chris and Danny all had great looks at the goal, but we couldn’t find the back of the net. A big kick from 30 yards out found the upper left corner of the goal and couldn’t be stopped. Game highlights go to Chris & Hank for running another 80 minutes. Freddy took a knock to the head and had to be bandaged. We look to rebound right away with State Cup and Stafford Arsenal coming this weekend.

Fusion Shutdown Arsenal
Sunday saw the boys recover from the Saturday State Cup loss. It was the first game where all players were healthy and available. We possessed the ball well in the back and challenged Stafford’s defensive line. Fitz got us up by a goal in the 30th minute with a ball through the middle from Danny. Alex scored a header off a Daniel corner kick in the 2nd half. Good looks from Chris in the air as well as from Arthur & Freddy almost made the score higher. We used the day to see the return for Pepi and get him and others some game fitness. We continue to build for the coming weeks against the Avalanche and Columbus Day in Va. Beach.

Fusion Draw Even With Avalanche
Sunday saw the Fusion come up even against the Avalanche. A late and suspect PK gave the Avalanche the opportunity to even up the game. Our goal came from Freddy early in the 1st half as he was there for the rebound off the gk and got the nifty finish. Jay was denied off of the crossbar and Soufan had one called bak for a "close" offsides. We go into the second half of the season with 10 points and in 2nd place.
Focus Get Past Fusion
The Fusion lost a heartbreaker to a mediocre team on Sunday. We gave up a soft pk (another one!!) when a ball popped up on the grass and hit hank’s harm in the box. We shelled the goalkeeper for the entire 2nd half and couldn’t find the back of the net. A very disappointing result. Lucas had some key saves in the first but didn’t have to do much work in the 2nd half as we barely let them out of their part of the field.
Fusion Top The Premier
The boys topped the VBSC United Premier on Sunday, 2-1. Goals were scored by Daniel off a set piece outside the 18 and by Jay who was there to put away a cross from Mason. The boys didn’t play as well in the first as they should have and Alex had to make more saves than he should have. We remain in 2nd place with 2 must-win games left for the season.

Rockets Fall To Fusion
Goals were scored by Ftiz & Danny at the SoccerPlex on Sunday. Lucas had a very busy 2nd half and came up really big to keep the shutout!
