The Eagles Blue opened the 2009 fall ODSL season at home against the Braddock Road Elite White team.  The two teams were very evenly matched in their game last season, and that continued into this game with both teams having scoring chances in the first half, but none of the shots found the back of the net.  The Eagles Blue came out in the second half looking to score, and were able to convert on a goal resulting from persistence and determination.  The Eagles Blue added another goal with a beautifully placed direct free kick minutes later.  Braddock Road would not give up and fought back to tie the game in the final minutes, and the match ended in a 2-2 tie.  It was a great start to the regular season, and the rematch between these two teams later in the season promises to be another close matchup.
